Night Landscape

A Walk About Paris by Oliver Kremer taken March 27, 2014
National Geographic
I like this photo because it captures the essence of the city, but also everything is a shade of gold. The gold brings a sense of glamour to the photo, which is one of the things that someone thinks of when they think of Paris. The mood of the work is romantic, because the color is warm, but it is also seen in the design of the street lamp and the Eiffel tower in the distance. The night draws the eye to all the different elements of light in the photo, especially along the horizon beneath the Eiffle tower.

Japan Railway Bridge by Teruo Araya taken September 17, 2013
National Geographic
The mood of the photograph is gloomy and eeire. The nighttime effects the mood by the darkness in the sky highlighting the fog. The fog also brings out the colors of the trees, but also it appears as if there is nothing under the bridge. I also like the train as the focal point of the picture then looking at everything that is around it. The night adds mystery to the photo, because one can not clearly decipher what is surrounding the train and what is within the fog.
