Night Landscape Prelim 9/23
Sometimes I find that with my camera, maybe it is a setting I have it on, when I take night photos they turn a sort of blue color. Like most of my photos I used the close up technique, or I focus on one object in the space. I need to go out and really explore more night landscape, I want to go down in the inner harbor, I need to discover more place where I could take night landscape photos, because these photos have a variety of locations, a few were taken in Annapolis. I am realizing that I mostly take photos during the day, but through the back lit photo project I realized how many options I have taking photos at night time, something I had never thought of before. I tend to work more close up, because I like the details of photos, typically faces or certain element of an object, but night landscape is more capturing the landscape as a whole. I suppose I could zoom in on certain element, but I feel like I need to capture more in the photos. I don'y like the photo of the London Eye that much, I feel like there is too much dead space and I could have done more with the photo, but the other photo of the double decker bus is more textured photo, but I like the light elements of the photo. I like the photo of the lamp post for the elements of light as well, I like that there a lot of different lights. I like the water photos, but the blue hue bothers me a little and I could not figure out how to edit it to look differently, but I believe that is a camera setting issue.

Backlit Photos
Backlit Paragraph
I focused on having the light catch their faces, I tried to make the light a prominent part of the photos, so I made the mistakes as not focusing on the shadow. Most, if not all of my photos are close up. I really like to focus on people's faces, I think I like the beauty element of it, but also the emotion. I think at my first attempt at backlit pictures I got caught up in capturing the person and not the image. I took the photos at Fells Point downtown, I choose that location because of the abundance of light, but I think that might of hurt the backlit effect. This is seen through how in some of the faces have side lighting or top lighting as well.
